Jesse Jackson Jr Jailed Over Misuse Of Funds

Jesse Jackson Jr has been sentenced to 30 months in jail, following his guilty plea over the misuse of $750,000 in campaign funds.

The former Illinois congressman and his wife pleaded guilty last year to misusing campaign money on splurges such as a gold-plated Rolex watch, vacations and mounted elk heads.

His wife, Sandra Jackson, was sentenced to one year in prison for filing false tax returns.

Jackson, 48, the son of civil rights leader Rev Jesse Jackson, served in Congress from 1995 until he resigned last November.
